Frequently Asked Questions

Blok Box can overcome any challenge you may have with equipment leasing and collections. Read our FAQ’s below on how your company can benefit from our revolutionary products.

Why wouldn’t someone just cut the power cord and put a new plug on?

  1. The very first part of the answer is simply that Blok Box looks like the very normal power inverter most equipment has these days. Like them, it has no logos or identification. In fact, it only states that it provides the manufacturer’s suggested voltage and amperage for optimal performance of the equipment. It provides 2 LED indicator lights confirming AC power and function, or a problem.
  2. The second part of the answer is that in the very rare cases where someone makes the assumption Blok Box is a power interrupter and takes the risk of cutting the power cord to a new piece of equipment that is under warranty and a service contract, they will be voiding both.
  3. It’s important to understand, very few individuals would ever consider cutting to power cord to a $15,000 to $50,000 piece of equipment. Most would call the number shown on the unit should the equipment stop working, which goes directly to the leasing company.

Why would anyone allow this to be installed?

Leasing, unlike bank financing, is a convenient and far less financially stringent resource for many businesses looking to acquire equipment, and in many cases their credit history has brought them to leasing rather than purchasing.  Because of this, the leasing company can dictate terms and conditions, in particular when credit is a concern.  The company is most willing to accept those terms for the sake of acquiring the equipment.

In the case of existing leases that default on payments, Blok Box can be retroactively installed as part of a very accepted “field audit”, which is non-threatening even in the worst of circumstances. During this audit, which confirms serial numbers, location and functionality, the Blok Box is added in less than a minute and is presented as a performance enhancement device much like a surge protector. The field auditor suggests that the leasing company wants to protect the equipment and installs this at no cost.

My cell phone doesn’t always get good reception, how will this effect Blok Box?

Wireless data transmission does not require the signal strength of voice communications, which demands far greater data transmission and speed. Data transmits at levels where voice would be lost or not even established.

What is the minimum value of the equipment Blok Box should be installed on?

We suggest an equipment minimum value of $5,000. In reality, equipment values range between $15,000 and $250,000, such as production equipment which uses our multi-voltage Blok Box installed as part of manufacturer’s original equipment.

What happens when someone just unplugs the equipment and moves it?

Blok Box is a completely autonomous device, connecting with our Cloud control panel software the moment it has power.  It sends confirmation of its status and can be located anywhere.

Whatever status Blok Box was in prior to being unplugged, it will remain in that status until ordered to change by the leasing company.

What about software issues with equipment?

There are no conflicts with equipment control software or programming because Blok Box is totally self-contained and autonomous, functioning independently of any equipment it’s installed on.
